The launch of India Spotlight comes a day after Amazon announced Prime Video service availability in the country.
India Spotlight also has a trending section to help movie nerds keep a track of the titles other fellow Indians are showing interest in. In addition to featuring Hindi movies and TV shows, the site also lists movies in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Bengali languages.
Founded in 1990, IMDb has become an authoritative place for movie goers. It has over four million movies, TV shows and different episodes listed on the website. The site also offers snippets and other trivia related to those titles. It also helps people discover TV shows and movies based on their preferences.
IMDb rakes in over 600 million page views every month, according to web analytics firm SimilarWeb. And it ranks 57th most popular site worldwide on Amazon-owned web traffic data firm Alexa.
