The eroticism storiesMandalorianSeason 2 premiere is rapidly approaching, and with its first teaser trailer out in the public and a few rumblings about casting, there's a lot to know heading into the next chapter of this Star Wars adventure.
First thing's first; let's get the basic details down. The Season 2 premiere hits Disney+ on Oct. 30, and the season will continue to focus on the world's new favorite dynamic duo: the Mandalorian and the Child, aka Baby Yoda. We'll also see the return of Cara Dune (Gina Carano) and Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), as well as the villainous Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).
Now for all the new stuff.
The first teaser for The MandalorianSeason 2 gives us a good amount of information about what to expect from the next season.
A few bits of dialogue here establish what is likely the backbone of this season:
"You must reunite it with its own kind," a voice says to Mando. "It" refers to the Child, which means that Mando has a pretty clear goal even though the importance of that goal is still pretty much shrouded in mystery for him.
"You expect me to search the galaxy and deliver this creature to a race of enemy sorcerers?," the Mandalorian asks the voice. Those sorcerers are Jedi, and it's made clear that Mandalorians and theJedi Order have a very contentious past. In fact, a war between the two crushed the Mandalorians and their home planet, Mandalore. While delivering the Child to the Jedi is Mando's set task, it will surely lead to some internal and probably external conflict.
"Wherever I go, he goes," Mando says, referring to the Child. That's right, they're sticking together on this journey.
Now for more of the nitty gritty details. Sasha Banks appears in this trailer during a portion where the voice speaking to Mando is talking about the Jedi. It almost seems like she could be playing one of these Jedi, but there's a more popular theory that she could be playing fellow Mandalorian Sabine Wren, and that could be her voice in the trailer. Sabine Wren was introduced in the animated series Star Wars: Rebelsand formerly wielded the Darksaber, which Moff Gideon was seen wielding in the final frames The Mandalorian's first season.
We also get a glimpse at a handful of different planets, and while we don't really know what most of them are, one of them appears to be Tatooine, given the presence of a Tusken Raider. In another possible link to the Original Trilogy, a brief glimpse at a snowy planet suggests we may be heading to Hoth.
One other intriguing aspect of the trailer is the inclusion of X-Wings, flying with (or perhaps pursuing) the Mando's ship. So we'll likely be seeing some rebellious actions against the remnants of the Empire. (Remember: The Mandalorianis set only half a decade after Return of the Jedi.)
Many details around the future of The Mandalorianhave been kept pretty tight, but there have been some bits of casting news here and there to tease what's coming.
Rosario Dawson, Timothy Olyphant, and Temuera Morrison have been reported to be cast in the series.
Morrison played Jango Fett in Star Wars Episode II: The Clone Wars, and his casting agency seems to have confirmed that he'll be playing the character Boba Fett in The MandalorianSeason 2. That bounty hunter is a Mandalorian just like our titular protagonist.
Dawson is reportedly playing Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi padawan who trained under Anakin Skywalker and a star character in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Ahsoka has notably never physically appeared in a live-action Star Wars story.
Olyphant may be playing yet another Mandalorian, possibly one named Cobb Vanth. If that holds true, that means we'll be seeing a whole lot more of the Mandalorian people in this season.
SEE ALSO: How one VFX studio brought The Mandalorian's blurrgs to lifeAt the end of Season 1, The Mandalorianleft us with a lot of questions, many of which could be answered within Season 2. As Mando traverses the galaxy to find his little, green friend's family, we may learn a bit about where exactly the Child came from and why he's such an important figure.
With so many Mandalorians possibly popping up too, we may learn a bit more about Mando's own backstory. The Clone Warsand Rebelsboth expanded what we know of Mandalore and Mandalorian culture, and Season 1 built that out even further. What surprises might a second season bring?
In the Mando's dealings with the Jedi, we'll likely also get a sense of where the Jedi Order is at and how exactly the Child ties into everything. All we really know about the Jedi Order after the second Death Star's destruction comes from the recently completed sequel trilogy, which revealed that Luke Skywalker unsuccessfully attempted to revive the Order after the Empire fell.
