A couple of days ago we introduced the seemingly outlandish concept of an AirPod Safety harness, pakistani leaked sex videos but now the idea is getting the mainstream treatment thanks to a well-known accessories maker.
SEE ALSO: Apple's AirPods are either genius or a complete disasterOn Monday, California-based Spigen introduced the world to its Spigen AirPods Strap, an accessory meant to keep your wireless AirPods linked together by one slickly designed cord.
The key here is the design -- which, unlike the aforementioned "Safety Strap," doesn't cover the microphone port at the bottom of the AirPods. On the product page for the AirPods Strap, Spigen states that the product is "currently patent pending," a smart move if Apple's new wireless device is a hit.
Spigen, which is selling the AirPods Strap for $9.99, describes the product like this: "Ideal to never lose your Apple Air Pods. Keep it in place around your neck, in your pocket, or anywhere you can hang a strap."
And while you can't even get the AirPods yet, Spigen already has the accessory for sale on Amazon, with a release date of Oct. 17, right around the time Apple plans to begin selling the AirPods, which are due in "late October."
Does this mean that AirPods are already on their way to being cool instead of a punch line? Only time, and the popularity (or lack thereof) of products like the AirPods Strap will tell.
In any case, if you're going to spend $159 for tiny, slippery earphones (yes, we've touched them, they're slick), $10 is a small price to pay to avoid losing them.
