If you're a true Redditor,Pinoy Archives you know that the r/trees subreddit has nothing to do with oaks, douglas firs or maples. It's a decoy name for people who love a different kind of plant -- marijuana, to be exact.
One Redditor who participated in the website's annual holiday gift exchange clearly wasn't up to speed. After reading that their exchange partner PaltryPenguinu likes r/trees, the Redditor decided to gift him with a Bonsai tree.

"In my bio I mentioned that I enjoy lurking on /r/trees and my SS was excited to have been matched with a fellow 'tree lover,'" he wrote on Reddit. "Regardless of whether or not this is a joke or if they really do have a strong passion for gardening, I love the randomness of my new bonsai tree and will try to keep it alive. Thanks for a memorable first experience Secret Santa!"
Redditors naturally loved the mixup, prank or not.
We feel pretty confident that the recipient will find some way to smoke out of his new Bong-sai tree.
