We're always told to get out of our bubble,Adult Movies | Adult Movies Online but this new glamping company wants to put you right back in it.
Australia's just landed its very first pop-up bubble tent glamping hotel, Bubbletent, a collection of transparent, inflatable accomodation options located on a 1000+ acre working farm between Lithgow and Mudgee, about 200 kilometres from Sydney.
SEE ALSO: Airbnb is opening its very own apartment building (that sounds a lot like a hotel)Overlooking the Capertee Valley, the set up allows visitors to go off-grid without worrying about insects, rain, wind or any other pesky natural element of actually going off-grid. Hardcore camping isn't for everyone.
Thirty-something Bubbletent owners Mayu Iwasaki and Sonny Vrebac, both actors, have really decked this place out as the ultimate stargazing pad. They were inspired by stargazing trips to New Zealand's Lake Tekapo and Australia's Coonabarabran.
"We were sent packing back to our accomodation where there was a darned roof in the way," Iwasaki told Mashable. "You could say we're spoilt millennials that are just indulging in our ultimate fantasy ... except that we want to share it with people."
Each 3.5 metre bubble tent comes with a queen bed with goose down pillows and blanket cache, a telescope for stargazing, UE Wonderboom bluetooth speaker, headlamps, 26 litre eski/cooler, USB charger, slippers, towels, hot water bottles, raincoats, eye masks, crockery, champagne flutes, hot chocolate, insect repellent and an iPad equipped with stargazing app Luminos and curated Spotify playlists.
All you have to do is BYO booze and food, which you can cook up on the deck, with its own camp stove, couches and deck chairs. There's a hammock, too. Instagram posts mandatory.
In case you're worried about having to use the bathroom in a transparent bubble, there's a "shielded sanitary sphere" containing an eco-friendly compost toilet and sink with pump water.
Plus, you're staying in one of the 50 IBA (Important Bird Area) sanctuaries for birdwatching, so expect a few winged visitors — you'll find binoculars and a birdwatching app in your tent.
A bubble tent will set you back $250 per night, except Friday and Saturday when the rate jumps up to $310.
Of course, it's not the first bubble camping hotel in the world, with transparent accomodation already in full swing in Iceland, France and Spain. See-through stays like New Zealand's Pure Pods, and completely open-air hotels like Switzerland's The Only Star Is You are proving popular with folks wanting to get back to nature without actually having to deal with it, really.
In fact, you might currently find it easier to get a booking at these hotels outside Australia — the place is entirely booked out, with more dates set to be announced.
