Ultrawide really means ultrawide.
Samsung came out with a new 49-inch QLED gaming monitor on Watch The Silencing OnlineFriday — and it's basically like an actual TV.
The CHG90 monitor has HDR technology usually reserved for televisions that "showcases games exactly as developers intended" with improved color and contrast.
“Gamers want to feel completely immersed when they play, and our new monitors provide the most stunning visuals to deliver the ultimate gaming experience,” Samsung's vice president for product marketing Andrew Sivori said in a statement. “These QLED gaming monitors represent the future of gaming for both casual and dedicated players alike, and we’re confident that our innovative design and state-of-the-art features will enhance the entire gaming arena.”
Samsung first revealed its QLED Quantum Dot technology at CES back in January.

It also has a 1,800R curvature and 178-degree viewing angle — like a better version of what you get when combining smaller monitors together. Samsung says the screen is perfect for first-person action-heavy games.
The monitor costs $1,499 and is available for preorder. Smaller displays — 32-inch and 27-inch — cost $699 and $599.
