Read Mashable's full review of the Alienware m16 R2.
A Mashable Choice Award winner, Dell's Alienware m16 R2 is a premium 16-inch laptop "that can handle both play and work," said Mashable Tech Editor Kim Gedeon. She gave it a 4.5/5 rating for its awesome performance, its sturdy, "subdued" design that doesn't hang onto fingerprints, its "satisfying" keyboard, and its port selection. She also appreciated its support of Nvidia Advanced Optimus, a feature that lets users switch on its integrated graphics for non-gaming tasks. It's our favorite gaming laptop of 2024 despite its tinny audio and unimpressive battery life (which, to be fair, is to be expected with a machine this powerful).
The exact configuration we tested keeps going in and out of stock at Best Buy, having fallen to a record low of $1,299.99 during its Black Friday sale (a $600 discount). If it's MIA when you check, a similar configuration with a better Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU is readily available on Dell's website for $1,599.99, or $500 off. That's still better than the usual list price of our loaner.
