Traffic stubbornly refuses to be Chinadisrupted.
This year's CES, you may have heard, wasn't exactly packed due to the ongoing pandemic. Which makes video shared online of a traffic jam at the annual Las Vegas tech convention all the more confusing — that is, until you realize it's a bunch of Teslas jammed inside Elon Musk's Boring Company-built Las Vegas Convention Center Loop.
"So is there often a lot of traffic here?" asks the passenger in the below video as the driver and passenger come upon what is, undeniably, traffic in the single-lane tunnel.

The Loop, which runs underground from near the Las Vegas Convention Center's West Hall to the South Hall (and back), involves shoving people into Teslas at "stations." Those people are then driven by a human (no self-driving or autonomous features, here) through the tunnel to a drop-off point.
We reached out to the Consumer Technology Association, which organizes CES, to see if it had any comment on the apparent tunnel traffic jam. We received no immediate response.
Other photos and videos shared online also appear to show cars stacked up inside the 1.7 mile tunnel during CES.

In November of 2021, Musk claimed that "it's either traffic forever or tunnels," and specifically pointed to the Las Vegas tunnel as an example of the latter.

It seems the visionary founder lacked the imagination to ask, why not both?
