You can Osawa Yuka Archivesnow add Clips to the growing list of apps that are ready for the iPhone X.
Apple just announced its biggest update yet since it first released the social video app in April. The Clips app now features a redesigned iPhone X-ready interface, including new augmented reality effects, and Star Wars-themed stickers and effects.
SEE ALSO: 9 apps that look fantastic on the iPhone XApple is using the update to show off the power of the iPhone X's TrueDepth camera, and nowhere is that more apparent than in a new feature the company is calling "Selfie Scenes." Sort of like Snapchat's "World Lenses," Clips can create an animated 360-degree scene you can explore by moving the camera around.
There are 10 different Selfie Scenes to start, but it's the two Star Wars-themed scenes that will likely excite most people. One puts you on the Millennium Falcon, complete with BB-8 rolling around in the background, while the other puts you in the Mega-Destroyer, which is set to make its debut in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi (BB-8's "evil" counterpart BB-9 even makes an appearance).
The scenes feature is sadly limited to Clips' iPhone X users, but Apple has added some Star Warseffects for everyone else, too. The app now has a set of animated stickers starring Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, R2-D2, C-3PO, and, of course, Chewie. (Apple previously worked with Disney to add Pixar characters to the app).
There are also a handful of Star Wars graphics available as "posters," in-app graphics cards you can add between video clips.
Star Warsaside, Apple also added a suite of "style transfer" filters -- or AI-powered effects that process the image on your screen and makes it look like a particular painting style (similar to what Facebook does with its camera and Prisma's effects).
Apple also added iCloud support to make it easier for people to move between devices while they edit videos.
All of the updates are available now in the latest version of Clips.
