Monday's first presidential debate thrust Alicia Machado into the spotlight when Hillary Clinton used the actress and Terms of servicemodel's Miss Universe experience to underscore Donald Trump's sexist attitude towards women.
On Thursday, Kesha voiced her support for the former Miss Universe winner.

Some background: Near the end of Monday's debate, Clinton noted that Trump had in the past referred to Machado, a Clinton supporter, as "Miss Piggy" in reference to her weight.
In a Tuesday morning interview with Fox & Friends, Trump refused to back down on his words, saying, "She was the winner and she gained a massive amount of weight and it was a real problem." He also tweeted a series of insults about Machado on Friday morning.
In Kesha's post, she offered her support:
WORDS mean something, and can be extremely hurtful and dangerous. They stay deep inside you and can affect your emotional and mental health. I know this from personal experience. They are hard, and sometimes impossible, to ever forget. please don't let him get to you any longer, instead realize that you are a strong woman and a beautiful role model for standing up and telling the truth, even if it hurts to remember it.
