With Special Counsel Mueller and The Intern - A Summer of LustDeputy Attorney General Rosenstein's firings looking increasingly more likely, our great Congress is so far responding with a collective ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Ah, checks and balances -- we hardly knew ye!
Americans, on the other hand, are far more ready to mobilize if and when the moment comes. MoveOn.org and over two dozen activist organizations from across the political spectrum have collected over 335,000 RSVPs for nationwide protests should Mueller or Rosenstein be fired.
SEE ALSO: The largest protests in American history are happening now. Expect them to get bigger. While organizers have been planning protests for months, the number of RSVPs has grown in recent weeks, as Trump refuses to cooperate with the Special Counsel.
"Numbers [of RSVPs] have skyrocketed of late," David Sievers of MoveOn, told Mashable in an email. "Over 100,000 in the last month, and 40,000 in the past week alone."
MoveOn has collaborated with established progressive organizations, including Public Citizen and the Sierra Club, as well as veterans organizations like Common Defense and newer activist groups like Indivisible and StandUp America, to build a collective RSVP list.

Folks who want to be notified about upcoming protests can sign up at TrumpIsNotAboveTheLaw.org. There are currently over 800 events planned in all 50 different states and United States territories.
Protests would be triggered in the event Mueller, key witnesses, or Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein werr fired. As of now, TrumpIsNotAboveTheLaw says the won't call for protests if Attorney General Jeff Sessions is fired, but will request that Congress do more to prevent Mueller from being removed.
On Friday, a story from NBCNews revealed that Deputy General Rod Rosentein was ready to be fired and was "at peace" with himself.
Good for you, Rod -- and please excuse the rest of America if they don't feel quite the same way.
