Tesla's Model 3 has finally hit the road,Dagmar Bürger and all we want is a chance to take a spin.
Unfortunately, you're not going to have a chance to drive one of the new electric sedans unless you're Elon Musk, one of the 30 Tesla employees who received their new car last week, or one of the lucky members of the media who got a sneak peak, like my new nemesiscolleague Lance Ulanoff.
The closest the rest of us will probably get for now might just be this interactive mockup of the car's UI. The project, which was created by Glasgow-based UX/UI designer and EV enthusiast Andrew Goodlad and spotted by Electrek, puts a spec version of the 15-inch Model 3 touchscreen control panel at your fingertips.
Goodlad whipped up his own version of the UI based on images and videos of the Model 3 interior that have emerged since the launch, along with other fan renders and theories about how the system will work.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
You can click through the interactive screens for some of the new functionality to get that Model 3 feel. Goodlad says that he plans on updating and correcting the build as more details leak out from the actual cars on the road, so a truly accurate Model 3 experience might not be far away.
It's not exactly the same as driving, but we're going to have to take all we can get until Tesla makes its way through its "manufacturing hell" and the Model 3s become commonplace on roads everywhere. Bonus points if you tape your tablet to your normie car's dashboard to really emulate that Tesla experience for the time being.
