With the city's 1.3 million residents confined to their homes by the coronavirus pandemic, the intrepid marsupial took the rare opportunity to safely explore the human habitat — though there was at least close call with a car.
"Protective Security Officers tracked a suspect wearing a grey fur coat hopping through the heart of the #adelaide CBD this morning," the South Australia Police tweeted on Sunday. "He was last seen on foot heading into the West Parklands."

This lone kangaroo isn't the only animal who has boldly ventured into an urban environment in recent weeks. Last month a herd of goats took over the town of Llandudno, Wales, eating hedges and blatantly ignoring social distancing rules. However Llandudno is much smaller than Adelaide, with a population of around 20,000.
