Yo ho yo ho,Taste of Future Sister-in-law (2023) it's apparently going to be a pirate's life for McCartney!
Paul McCartney -- yes, Sir Paul McCartney from The Beatles, that's the guy -- on Saturday posted a photo of his Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales character, which was announced last March.
McCartney will be starring in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Yeah, no -- we have no idea why or how this is happening either. But it's happening.
SEE ALSO: I wouldn't want to be the person who's paid to do this for Johnny DeppA 74-year-old McCartney posted a promo poster for the fifth Piratesfilm that shows him looking remarkably like his now co-star, Johnny Depp. McCartney's pirate hair, beard, makeup, bandana, hat, rings, AHH this man is almost unrecognizable.
What is going on?

According to IMDB, the singer will be playing "Jail Guard 2," which doesn't tell us much. [Mashablesaw the film at Cinemacon and, while we don't want to spoil anything, the truth is there's not much to spoil. The appearance is so brief that you could tip a rum bottle and miss it.]
Though this casting seems slightly out-of-the-blue, Rolling Stones guitarist, Keith Richards, appeared in the franchise's third film, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, so this is apparently a thing classic rock stars do?
Richards played the role of Captain Teague, Jack Sparrow’s father, which must have been a joy for Depp, who based his character's mannerisms after Richards.
Even so, we honestly just have so many questions -- mainly:
Has Paul been dreaming of starring alongside Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow for YEARS and we just never knew?
How is there even a fifth installment in the Piratesfranchise anyways?
Is this cool? This is a man who recently collaborated with freaking Kanye West and Rihanna on "FourFiveSeconds," so it must be, right?
Why, Paul? WHY are you doing this? Tell. Us.
The film is set to come out on May 26, so it's not long before we get our answers.
