Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez are scheduled to meet in a light heavyweight fight as part of the Saturday's BOXXER card at The OVO Arena, Wembley in London. The card starts at 2 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
The bout was originally scheduled for Oct. 21, 2023, but it was delayed as a result of Azeez suffering a back injury during training.
No. 1-ranked Joshua Buatsi comes into the bout 17-0 with 13 knockouts. His last fight was May 6, 2023, and he got a unanimous decision win vs. Paewl Stepien. Azeez enters the matchup with a 19-0 record and 13 knockouts. He last fought on July 5, 2023, when he outpointed Khalid Graidia during an eight-round victory.
This fight serves as the final eliminator for the WBA World Light Heavyweight Championship currently held by Dmitry Bivol.
The BOXXER card is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on Saturday, Feb. 3. In the United States, the fights will be available to stream exclusively on NBC’s Peacock streaming service.
The card starts with Jeamie ‘TKV’ Tshikeva vs. Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko in a heavyweight fight. Also on the card are Caroline Dubois vs. Miranda Reyes (women’s IBO World Lightweight Title); Ben Whittaker vs. Khalid Graidia; and Adam Azim vs. Enock Poulsen (EBU European Super Lightweight Title).
There are two tiers to NBC’s Peacock streaming service. The premium plan is $5.99/month, and the premium plus plan at $11.99/month. The advantage of the premium plus plan is no ads, but that doesn’t apply to live sporting events. Also, the premium plus plan provides 24/7 access to your local NBC channel.
Peacock offers a 17% savings if you pay for a full year upfront. Those rates are $59.99 for the premium plan and $119.99 for the premium plus plan.
