The Osawa Yuka ArchivesSimpsons might be really, bizarrely good at predicting things -- just look at this list of technological predictions they've made over the years -- but they didn't predict Donald Trump's presidential win.

The cartoons above are indeed from The Simpsons-- but the date on the left-hand picture is wrong, and the election chart on the right has been taken completely out of context.
First, the cartoons on the left aren't from the year 2000; they're from the following 2015 video The Simpsonsshared in the aftermath of Trump announcing that he was running for president.
The electoral maps compared in that viral tweet may be spookily similar, but the picture above has been taken out of context.
Rather than being a Trump-related prediction, the screengrab of Mr Burns is from a 2012 video about the cartoon villain endorsing Mitt Romney (skip to 0:40 in the clip below).
So where's all this stuff about The Simpsonspredicting Trump's presidency coming from?
When people on Twitter questioned the images, the OP responded by saying they were from the 2000 episode Bart to the Future.

And the thing is, that episode didactually show a vision of a Trump presidency -- it just didn't contain any of the images from the tweet that's gone viral.
