Bad news: If you aren't a Snapchat+ subscriber, rientalism, eroticism and modern visuality in global cultures you can't remove My AI from your Chat feed.
Snapchat announced My AI's global rollout Wednesday (April 19) and users are already fed up with its placement at the top of their Chat feeds. Initially exclusive to Snapchat+ subscribers, now you have to subscribe (for a $3.99 per month fee) to get rid of My AI.
The feature appears in users' Chat feeds with a customizable Bitmoji avatar and runs on OpenAI's GPT technology. My AI responds to your messages like a friend. You can also ask it for recommendations for Lenses to use, or places to visit and send it a Snap and receive a reply in chat. But many Snapchatters want their actual friends at the top of their Chat feeds, instead of My AI.
If you're a Snapchat+ subscriber, here are the two ways you can unpin it.
Step 1: Open Snapchat
Step 2: Navigate to the Chat screen by swiping left from the Camera screen
Step 3: Hold down "My AI"
Step 4: Select "Chat Settings"
Step 5: Tap "Clear from Chat Feed"
Open Snapchat
Tap your Bitmoji in the upper lefthand corner
Select the settings icon in the upper righthand corner
Scroll down to "Privacy Controls"
Select "Clear Data"
Tap "Clear Conversations"
Select the "X" next to "My AI" to remove it from your Chat Feed
