There is Science Fiction Movies | Adult Movies Onlinenow a full-fledged Japanese pop band dedicated to spreading the gospel of bitcoin and more. Welcome to 2018.
Everyone from Kodak to that stranger you swiped right on is hopping on the cryptocurrency wagon these days. So it was only a matter of time before it seeped into the music you listen to.
According to a discovery made by Quartz, the group's name (Kasotsuka Shojo) translates to --drumroll please -- Virtual Currency Girls. Many cryptocurrencies are represented within the all-girl group, like Ethereum, Bitcoin, Neo, and more. It's worth noting that Bitcoin is recognized as legal currency in Japan, where the group is based.
"We want to promote the idea through entertainment that virtual currencies are not just a tool for speculation but are a wonderful technology that will shape the future," Rara Naruse, the group's reported leader, told AFP in an online statement.
There are eight members, and they're doing just what Naruse says, with songs like, "The Moon and Virtual Currencies and Me." It's their debut single, which apparently preaches to listeners about online security and fraud, and admittedly it is catchy.
Regardless of whether or not the cryptocurrency bubble bursts, let's hope this band at least lives on forever.
Oh, and if you're trying to catch a show from them (their live debut is Friday, January 12), know this: you must pay for your ticket with a cryptocurrency. Obviously.
