You know what they say: first comes the DM,financial times the eroticism of gustav klimt then comes marriage ...
That's what happened to Madison O’Neill, 20, and Charlie Dohrmann, 21. The couple, who are both from Des Moines, Iowa, knew each other from high school, but not on a personal level.
That all changed the day O’Neill tweeted asking if anyone was interested in being her date to a wedding.
Dohrmann responded via direct message, telling her he would go.
O'Neill was initially nervous about agreeing to the date, but decided it was worth a shot — and it most definitely was.
Meanwhile Dohrmann was so determined he even called out of work. He told Mashable, "I remembered her from high school and I knew she was really cute. I called in sick for work because she had already told me all the info for when the wedding was and I wasn’t about to miss it!"
They turned out to have an instant connection and began dating a week after.
Now a little over two years into their relationship, Dohrmann unexpectedly popped the question last Tuesday in San Diego, asking her to marry him.
“I took her to the Coronado Bridge on the island side and she set up a tripod so we could take pictures together. After she hit the timer on her camera I told her we should try a new pose and that’s when I got on one knee and asked her to marry me."
Great things can happen when you take a chance -- even on Twitter.
