It may just be Le bijou d’amourthe tweet that's been read around the world.
Carter Wilkerson, the teen on a mission to achieve 18 million retweets in order to get a year's supply of Wendy's chicken nuggets, has made history.
His tweet has officially become the most retweeted tweet on Twitter, surpassing Ellen's celebrity-laden Oscar selfie from 2014.

As of this writing, Wilkerson's nugget tweet has 3,431,750 retweets. Meanwhile, Ellen's Oscar selfie has slightly fewer at 3,430,313.
Interestingly enough, Wilkerson appeared on The Ellen Showto talk about his viral success a couple weeks after the tweet launched. Ellen wanted to work together with Wilkerson to get both of their tweets to 18 million retweets, as Ellen wasn't ready to part with the retweet record.

We hope Ellen is ready to relinquish the title now, because it's no longer hers whether she likes it or not. And it only took Wilkerson a little bit over a month to get there.

While Wilkerson does love his nuggs, he decided to slightly shift the focus of his viral campaign to include a donation to charity. The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is an organization that works to find homes for children in foster care. And with Wilkerson's landmark Twitter achievement, Wendy's donated $100,000 to the organization.
