The Watch Paradise Z Onlinenew all new iPhone 7 will feature stereo speakers after all, according to a series of tweets, later deleted, by Apple just before the unveiling of the product during the Apple's iPhone 7 event Wednesday in San Francisco.
Most iPhones prior to the iPhone 6 had all dual speaker grilles flanking the connector port, but this is the first time the phone will feature stereo speakers.
Apple's decision to introduce the stereo speakers is, most likely, linked to the highly controversial removal of the headphone jack. No confirmation of that feature just yet.
The move confirms a series of schematic that leaked before Wednesday's event, which showed the alleged iPhone 7 and 7 Plus with two sets of speaker holes on the bottom flanking the Lightning port.
UPDATE: Sept. 7, 2016, 2:28 p.m. EDT
Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing, has confirmed that the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will feature stereo speakers: one at the bottom and the other at the top. They will be twice the volume of the iPhone 6 Plus' speakers.
Schiller also confirmed the removal of the headphone jack:
