The streaming service saw a jump in subscribers to 19 million in the last quarter of 2024, putting it at 302 million global subscribers — more than any other streaming service in the industry. The cost of a monthly Netflix membership without ads is increasing from $15.49 to $17.99, the cost of a standard account with ads is increasing from $6.99 to $7.99, and the premium tier is increasing from $22.99 to $24.99. Netflix last raised its subscription price in October 2023.
"As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix," the company’s letter to investors said, according to The Verge.
