Here’s the thing about cleaning: it’s kind of a bummer, threesome videos right? Unless you have someone (or something) to do it for you, that is.
Enter the POWERbot™ robot vacuum by Samsung, a powerful cleaning device that is ready to take over all the vacuuming duties in your home. Since winning the CES Innovation Award in 2017, the POWERbot™ has continued to garner praise for its powerful suction capacity and sleek design. And now, the POWERbot™ has received a stylish upgrade that’s about to have Star Warsfans swooning.
Samsung has just released a pair of Star Warsedition POWERbot™ vacuums — a Darth Vader model and a Stormtrooper model — that are available now. Just think about it, while you’re waiting in line to see Star Wars: The Last Jediin theaters this December, the Star Warsedition POWERbot could be vacuuming your space.
Read on to discover why you’re totally going to love these vacuums.
Designed in collaboration with Lucasfilm and Disney, the POWERbot™ vacuums have been artistically rendered to capture the elegance of Star Warscostume design. The Darth Vader model boasts a specially created cover that resembles Vader’s all-black mask, while the Stormtrooper version replicates the glossy white and black helmet worn by the Imperial troops.
But these vacuums don’t just pay homage to their Star Warscounterparts, they sound like them too. Both models offer fun sound effects while they conquer the mess on your floors. For example, when the Darth Vader model is powered on, it makes the lightsaber ignition sound, and when it returns to the charging dock, it plays the “Imperial March” theme. When the Stormtrooper model launches into its cleaning routine, it says, “Let’s go” and plays the main Star Warstheme. One of the best parts of the audio features though is the Darth Vader model’s iconic breathing sound effect.
Okay, so maybe the Force only exists in movies — but wouldn’t it be cool if you could wield a similar power in your hands? Lucky for you, the Darth Vader model comes equipped with WiFi connectivity, which you can use to power the vacuum via remote control, app, or even via your voice through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Each POWERbot™ comes equipped with mapping technology, which allows the vacuum to scan the room and plot out its best and most efficient vacuuming path for your space. In addition, its FullViewSensor™ can even detect and avoid traps like chair and table legs.
According to JS Lee, a lead engineer for POWERbot™ at Samsung, this space recognition technology is the same key principle that’s used with autonomous vehicles, thus allowing the vacuum to maneuver your space more intelligently — and without getting hung up on any obstacles.
When it’s time to recharge, the vacuum “knows” where it is, and can track back to its original position “by sensing movement, route, time, and speed,” says Lee.
The whole point of vacuuming is to remove dirt, pet hair, and any other debris from your floors and carpets. But getting every last bit — especially along the edges and corners of walls, or other right angles — can be a challenge.
The POWERbot™ comes equipped with the “Edge Clean Master,” the only product on the market with this feature. The edge cleaner has a drop-down blade to capture dust trapped in corners and along the edges of the wall. The shutter guides dust and debris into the vacuum so that virtually nothing can escape, while the 290mm-wide brush helps cover more area in less time.
Dust & Dirt: 0
Vacuum: 1
The new POWERbot™ has 20 times the suction power of the last generation, plus Cyclone Force technology. Cyclone Force provides more consistent power with less clogging of the washable and reusable filter.
If the Star Warssaga has promised us anything, it’s that technology is here to make our lives better, easier, and just plain cooler. Thankfully, the future is now — and not just in a galaxy far, far away….
